WORKBOOK

HEY, I'M SHREYA

I am a copywriter that help businesses to run email

marketing and social media posts.

And I have failed drastically. At the beginning I would

beg entrepreneurs to work with me when knowing

nothing about copy.

But I want you to make those money, so I am

revealing all of my best tips here.

With competition rising daily, copywriting is definitely

one of the most useful skills to master in 2024.

LET'S GO!

Shreya...

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

WORKBOOK

THE PURPOSE OF YOUR 1ST LINE IS TO MAKE THE READER GO TO 2ND. THE PURPOSE OF 2ND LINE IS TO GO TO 3RD

01

WHO IS YOUR

TARGET?

I want to get it straight: making good copy is easy.

But to write a message that resonates you need to know who you’re writing to.

This is the easiest and yet very important chapter, so let’s get right into it :)

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

WORKBOOK

FIND YOUR AVATAR

Your Persona:

Imagine your ideal customer in front of you. Give them a name, age, occupation, and even a backstory.

Walk in Their Shoes:

Write a short paragraph from your persona's perspective. What challenges do they face, and what solutions are they seeking? This will help you understand their mindset.

WORKBOOK

Identify Touch points:

Where does your persona spend time online? What social media platforms? This will help you build the tone for your copy

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

PRO TIPS X2

When you describe people’s pain points better than they can, their trust will sky rocket.

And the more trust they have in you, the more likely they are to buy.

This is why giving free value through your copy is crucial, as it builds trust.

Free value is a client magnet. This is you saying ‘I do not need your money, I am here to help’.

In 100m$ Offers Hormozi said:

‘The person who needs the exchange less always has the advantage.’

What does it mean?

If you make it clear that you do not need someone’s money, they will be more eager to give them to you.

We will focus on free value more a bit later in this book, so stay tuned ;)

WOW! HOOKS

With bombs of content being dropped daily on social media, your hook is what stops the reader from scrolling.

There are a lot of psychological tricks behind the art of creating captivating hooks and in this chapter we will discover them.

Enjoy ;)

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

WORKBOOK

HACKING PSYCHOLOGY

There are 3 main Stages of People going through your Offer :

Hook

Retain

Reward

We will go through all of them in this book, but as you see, hook is the first component that gets prospects in the funnel

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

WORKBOOK

MAIN 3 ?

At this stage the Main 3 Questions are:

1.What is this?

2.Why should I keep reading? 3.What am I supposed to do

next?

HOW TO GRAB ATTENTION:

Challenge their beliefs (E.g. Insta Reels are useless)

Ask a 2 option question (one positive, one negative )

Be relatable (Have you tried making money online?)

Ask a paradoxical question (Why millionaires are less educated than an average person)

A strong promise (Here’s how to make 10k a month)

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

WORKBOOK

GOOD HOOK EXAMPLES:

When searching for a hook inspiration, I would simply look on social media Reel tab.

Videos that went viral most likely have good hooks that have caught attention of thousands of people.

I have a huge confession to make..

You’ll never achieve x if you’re doing...

How to achieve x in 3 easy steps...

How I made x in less than x

Swipe if you want to x

Let’s see how fast we can get you to do...

Watch this Reel until the end if you want...

This is why more people need to know about... x is easy, but you don’t know the full - story... ‘I want to start x, but I don’t have y’

I’ll show you how 😉 >

x is so hard if … Here’s how to get x without x This will change the way you see x I wasn’t going to share this, but… I can’t believe I didn’t start doing this sooner

WORKBOOK

HOOK CRAFTING

1.Define Your Core Message:

What emotion or idea do you want to captivate?

1.2.Choose Your Emotional Tone:

Consider the desired reader response—whether it's surprise, curiosity, or inspiration.

1.3.Experiment: Play with

language, structure, and pacing. Experiment until you find the one that resonates most.

1.4.Seek Feedback and Refine:

Gather feedback on the emotional impact and overall engagement. Use this to polish your hook.

YOUR NOTES:

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

WORKBOOK

03

PERSUASION IS

EASY

Congratulations! You’ve made it to the heart of compelling copy.

In this chapter, we'll explore the best methods of influencing your audience’s decisions and why free value is so important.

By the end of this chapter you will have your own piece of copy done, so stay tuned ;)

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

ATTENTION INTO

ACTION

When creating this chapter I was really wondering if I should keep this in my guide... This information actually feels illegal to be given out just like this for free. I got this hack from one of the paid courses I’ve completed, so make sure to take notes ;)

Remember when I said there are only 3 stages of people going through your offer? We are now moving to the 2nd stage: Retain.

But what is retain?

It is keeping the reader reading your copy.

Retain

HOW TO HOLD ATTENTION WITH INTRIGUE:

Think of intrigue as an itch. When you tell the reader that there’s a problem with something or you highlight their pain point, they will have physical discomfort until they know exactly what the information is.

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

WORKBOOK

ATTENTION INTO ACTION 2.0

FREE VALUE

As mentioned earlier, by delivering free value, you not only showcase your expertise but also create a reciprocal relationship with your audience.

This is important because this turns your audience from being cautious and unfamiliar with your brand, to more trusting.

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

WORKBOOK

ATTENTION INTO

ACTION

When giving out free value to your audience, you need to solve a problem they have.

E.g they don’t know what to post and you give them 5 content ideas. You are giving out free value.

The key here is to find a problem that comes with this free solution and offer a now paid solution for it.

If we stay with content creation example, your audience may now need to know what hashtags, taglines, hooks to use, etc...

You could provide these services now for money.

NEVER ENDING CIRCLE

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

DUALITY OF DECISION MAKING

Action

PEOPLE WILL BUY WITH EMOTION AND JUSTIFY IT WITH LOGIC

IPHONE PARADOX

Just the same way people would say that they bought Iphone/Macbook because it will motivate them to work more (When in reality they are driven by status ),

if your product is appealing emotionally, people are more likely to buy it.

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

WORKBOOK

2 MAIN MOTIVATORS

There are 2 main things that drive people to buy:

RUNNING AWAY FROM PAIN

PLEASURE

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

WORKBOOK

HUMAN MOTIVATORS

Here are my favorite ways of satisfying the emotional side of human brain:

Storytelling -> entertainment

Describe the picture vividly by being very specific + exaggerating

Describe fear or dream state -> these are highly emotional triggers that show a drastic change.

Use Urgency-> many of us are afraid of missing out, so people will take action if there’s a reason to.

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

Mention benefits rather than features -> features provoke interest, but benefits spur action (more about this later in the chapter)

WORKBOOK

FEATURES VS BENEFITS

Showcasing your product’s features may catch the eye of your audience, but it doesn’t do anything other than that.

Marketologists, fast delivery, top- notch tech – mere features.

Show WHY people need you.

If you offer 1:1 calls, what’s at stake if they miss out? Maybe you give them a faster delivery of results and without it they would spend years hitting the same wall?

As mentioned earlier, humans buy the emotion, rationalize with logic.

If prospects sense your product is the key to their dream outcome, they will buy, despite the premium price.

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

WORKBOOK

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN

Only action brings you closer to you goals, remember?

It’s time to start implementing those techniques that you’ve just learned :)

I’m introducing to you one of the most succeeding for me copywriting methods .

Relate to your audience with a problem they’re facing

P

ROBLEM

A

Exaggerate how bad the picture can get if it’s not fixed

GITATE

S

Here come your paid products.

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

WORKBOOK

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN

This technique is often used for Reels to catch your attention.

It’s about saying the craziest thing in the world and then justifying why it is so.

Challenge their beliefs. Say the most insane thing ever.

C

HALLENGE

J

Justify why. It could be sarcastic. E.g. ‘you’ll get too many views’.

USTIFY

N

EED

Transition all this into a lesson. Make them want your solution.

Personally, I hate when others use this method, because it tricks me all the time, but this is exactly why it’s effective :)

PRO TIP: the more negative your hook is, the more eyes it’ll catch.

Humans naturally are more attracted to negative things, because it makes them feel more protected. Weird, isn’t it?

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

WORKBOOK

TIME FOR EXAMPLES

Now that I have successfully confused you with giving all these methods in one (😂), let’s look at some examples! First one is going to be an email, when for second technique I decided to do a little case study on one of my Reels.

Enjoy ;)

SL: Unpopular Truth: Your Morning Routine Keeps You Broke

People obsessed with morning routines statistically make less money.

Why? They spend 2-4 hours jumpstarting it after 9 hours of sleep.

That leaves less than half the day for your goals.

Fun fact: Unnecessary morning tasks can boost procrastination. Too much energy spent early means you're drained by midday.

It's hard to believe, especially after seeing all those influencers with long routines, isn't it?

3 Questions for a Better Morning Routine:

1.What tasks align with my main goals today?

1.Can I simplify my morning routine for more efficiency?

1.Am I setting aside time for essential tasks, not just

routine habits?

WORKBOOK

TIME FOR EXAMPLES

I haven’t followed only CJN method in this one, so it’s a bit different form the template, but still an amazing example to analyse:

Challenge their beliefs. (Obviously I would never say that as a copywriter myself)

WORKBOOK

Justify why. As you can see, some of them are sarcastic.

@SHREYAGUPTAACC

TIME FOR EXAMPLES

Here’s the copy that I used for the description :

Just don’t ⬇

1. It takes additional effort and skills to learn a new high income skill

Sure, you will make x10 more profit if you learn this,

But it takes at least a month 😞 2. Your engagement will sky rocket.

Are you sure you can manage all of those followers?

3. If your message is too good, people will buy it.

Can you fulfil all of those orders?

4. Sure you won’t fail on the way?

Yeah, failures make us stronger, but it’s too hard anyways

Transition all this into a lesson. Make them want your solution.

Now jokes aside.

Copywriting is probably the best skill to learn in 2024.
